HOW TO CLEAN & CARE FOR YOUR BOOTS
Following the steps below when cleaning your Muck Boots will help keep them waterproof and protective for every job, task, and chore to come!
1. prepare your boots
The natural rubber and neoprene upper are very durable and easy to clean. Using a cloth or soft brush, gently wipe the surface to remove excess debris.
2. rinse with water
Rinse to remove any remaining muck with cold water and wipe clean with a non-abrasive cloth. This will help remove any remaining debris or contaminants.
NOTE: It might be tempting to try cleaners or solvents on your rubber boots but doing so may damage the materials and components. We recommend soapy water for stubborn muck.
3. allow boots to air dry
It’s important to let your boots dry naturally, away from artificial heat sources. Heat can potentially create cracks and crazing that will compromise your Muck Boots' waterproof protection.

As a natural material, avoid storing your boots in direct sunlight, near artificial heat or in sub-zero temperatures, as this can cause the rubber to become brittle, deteriorate and crack. Store them upright to avoid creasing or folding – some crumpled newspaper will help. One of our favorite places for storage is under-stair cupboards; your boots like their home to be cool, well-ventilated and dry, away from strong light.
HOW TO TAKE OFF YOUR MUCK BOOTS
After a long walk, it's tempting to use a step or the other toe to dig into the heel and force your boots off. We would recommend using a Boot Jack to remove your boots in one fluid motion. With a boot jack, there will be no more muddy socks and hands or excessive stress to the heel, which leads to splitting of the rubber over time. Plus, it is much kinder to your back, saving you from bending down.
HOW TO PROLONG THE LIFESPAN OF NATURAL RUBBER BOOTS
As a natural material, it is important your rubber boots are maintained and stored appropriately to prolong their life. See the above steps on how to do this. It is also essential to keep the natural rubber nourished and conditioned to avoid cracking or splitting of the rubber over time. Once the boots are cleaned and dry, the rubber upper can be conditioned with wax polish, Armor All® or liquid detergent. This helps keep the rubber supple, boost UV protection, and to avoid cracking or splitting of the rubber over time. It is not recommended to use conditioners on the outsole area. This may cause it to become slick in wet or icy conditions.
how to care for leather boots
For Leather products, we would recommend cleaning with a damp cloth, and use a stiff shoe brush to remove stubborn dirt. Nourish the leather to keep it supple and resistant to water penetration.
